RITA Version 0.5 Release Notes

WebP File Support: WebP files are now supported.

Modular Code: RITA’s code is now modular. Fun fact: previous versions were a single Python file with 1,250 lines of code.

Improved File Listing: File listing has been changed for better clarity.

Bug Fixes: Fixed a bug that sometimes displayed the arrow key prompt message twice in the stitching module.

Text Display in Framing Mode: In framing mode, any previously saved text will be shown before any further action.

Scaling Algorithm Display: The current scaling algorithm is now shown in the options menu before setting a new one.

  • What's RITA?
Do you perform any of these tasks frequently?

Changing resolutions, typing text in your images, framing, stitching images, inserting watermarks/logos/censors, making your images fit a square?

Do you feel these take a too much of your time?

RITA can do all those things without the usual hassle  and in a fraction of time!
  • RITA use is very straight forward:To download RITA just click the Google Drive link above the illustration. Decompress the zip file and launch RITA.exe, I'd suggest taking a few minutes to read the quick start guide: README_1ST.PDF that comes with the zip file.

To start using RITA Just put all your images in the "Images" folder, Launch RITA, make a few selections in its easy-to-use command line interface and RITA will generate new images with the desired changes applied, leaving the originals intact.

RITA comes with 5 Image editing modules:

  • Stitcher
It joins 2 or more images, you choose the image to be stitched and to which side of the other image(s) it should be stitched.
  • Scaler
It makes images smaller or bigger, it features 3 types of algorithms (Bicubic, Lanczos and Nearest Neighbor) to fit most needs. Ex: If your work is pixel art it uses Nearest Neighbor to keep the scaled images  as sharp as the original.
  • Make-it-Square
It simply makes your image(s) fit inside a square, it automatically changes width or height to achieve this.
  • Framing
Automatically creates a border around your image, it also allows you to insert text and keep it saved, in case you use said text repeatedly for different images.
  • Transparent Insertion
This is the only module with a GUI (Graphical User Interface), it allows you to insert PNGs with transparent pixels, so you can paste your logos, watermarks, texts, etc..

FAQ:

Command line interface? Isn't that antiquated?

I believe the predictability and menial nature of most of these tasks goes well with CLI. You don't have to move the mouse around, interacting with menus, dealing with loading times due to bloated apps, etc..

Only "Transparent insertion" uses a graphical interface because it's essential for that specific module.

I made an effort to make RITA very intuitive to use, I'm confident that if you give RITA a chance you will quickly notice how much time it saves compared to the alternatives.
