RITA: Rapid Image Transformation App v0.5
RITA Version 0.5 Release Notes
- WebP File Support: WebP files are now supported.
- Modular Code: RITA’s code is now modular. Fun fact: previous versions were a single Python file with 1,250 lines of code.
- Improved File Listing: File listing has been changed for better clarity.
- Bug Fixes: Fixed a bug that sometimes displayed the arrow key prompt message twice in the stitching module.
- Text Display in Framing Mode: In framing mode, any previously saved text will be shown before any further action.
- Scaling Algorithm Display: The current scaling algorithm is now shown in the options menu before setting a new one.
What's RITA?
Do you perform any of these tasks frequently?
- Changing resolutions
- Typing text in your images
- Framing
- Stitching images
- Inserting watermarks/logos
- Making your images fit a square
Do you feel these tasks take too much of your time?
RITA can do all of these things without the usual hassle and in a fraction of the time!
How to Use RITA
To download RITA, just click the Google Drive link above the illustration. Decompress the zip file and launch RITA.exe. I suggest taking a few minutes to read the quick start guide: README_1ST.PDF that comes with the zip file.
To get started, place all your images in the "Images" folder, launch RITA, make a few selections in its easy-to-use command line interface, and RITA will generate new images with the desired changes applied—leaving the originals intact.
RITA comes with 5 Image Editing Modules:
-
Stitcher
Joins 2 or more images. You choose the image to be stitched and which side of the other image(s) it should be stitched to. -
Scaler
Resizes images—making them smaller or larger. It features 3 scaling algorithms:- Bicubic
- Lanczos
- Nearest Neighbor (best for pixel art to preserve sharpness).
-
Make-it-Square
Automatically adjusts your image(s) to fit inside a square, modifying width or height as needed. -
Framing
Automatically creates a border around your image and allows you to insert and save text for reuse across different images. -
Transparent Insertion
The only module with a GUI (Graphical User Interface). It lets you insert PNGs with transparency—perfect for adding logos, watermarks, text, etc.
FAQ:
Command line interface? Isn't that outdated?
I believe the predictability and repetitive nature of most of these tasks are a perfect match for a CLI. You don't need to move a mouse, interact with menus, or deal with slow, bloated apps.
Only "Transparent Insertion" uses a graphical interface because it's essential for that module.
I’ve worked hard to make RITA intuitive to use. Give it a chance, and you’ll quickly notice how much time it saves compared to other alternatives.
TIP:
You can get RITA by becoming my patron at the $1 tier at patreon.com/firez. If you request it, I can provide an itch.io or Gumroad key. By doing so, you not only save $1 but also gain access to the exclusive rewards I post in that tier.
